How is Co-Ownership funded? Is it secure?

Yes, Co-Ownership is a secure path to home ownership. We are a non-profit organisation, part-funded and regulated by the Department for Communities. We also use rent from co-owners, and money returned when co-owners buy out, to fund our purpose of helping more people in Northern Ireland to become homeowners. 

In March 2025, the Department for Communities announced £153 million funding for Co-Ownership, allowing us to plan ahead and support 4,000 people into home ownership.
