Our focus here is on making a positive impact on the community, which includes charitable support.

Every year our staff choose a charity which they would like to support for the year ahead and regular fundraising events are arranged by our fundraising committee. Events have included coffee mornings and book sales, raffles and ‘big lunches’ and taking part in sporting events.

IN 2023 and 2023 Co-Ownership staff have fundraised for Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke and raised a total of £8383 for the charity, which is testament to the generosity and team spirit of our staff. Along with staff fundraising, as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy the organisation matches funds raised up to a maximum of £2,000. Staff have chosen to support the Children’s Heartbeat Trust during 2024.

The Annual Barnardo’s Christmas Gift Appeal

Every year the staff from Co-Ownership donate presents to the Barnardos Gift Appeal, Michelle from Barnardos says, ” Christmas is a very emotional time for a lot of us particularly for those who are coping with the sudden death of a loved one. By giving your gifts you have supported families who otherwise would’ve had little”.

Fundraising events for our chosen charity

Our staff continue to support our chosen charity by participating in our fundraising events. Over the past year these have included a Hearty Hike up Slieve Binnian, The Belfast City half marathon, Halloween, Christmas and Easter themed raffles, a trolley dash and coffee mornings.

Volunteering

As part of Co-Ownerships Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, all staff are supported with one day of volunteering annually. This encourages our staff to volunteer and offer their time and expertise to other charitable organisations. Staff have taken part in litter collections, helped out with local school events and sat on Boards and Committees. We have a small group of staff who volunteer with the Age NI Check in and Chat initiative giving up their time on a regular basis to contact an older person who may be isolated or lonely.
